A man from Temple who hiked the Marion Davis trail at Miller State Park in Peterborough on Tuesday completed his hike without requiring rescue.
Sources say that this man was familiar with these woods and stayed on the trails throughout his hike. His cell phone was also charged, he brought along some water, and had appropriate footwear and attire for the conditions.
He also didn’t litter, deface any features, or harass wildlife. He was friendly and respectful to other trail users, and kept his dog under control at all times.
Search crews were not dispatched in an effort to find him, because he followed the rules and was properly prepared for his outing.
The man says that he made it back home safely and without becoming an embarrassing or tragic news story, and plans to do so again tomorrow.
