A step-by-step system to help you quiet your inner critic, make peace with your body & embrace your quirks…
even if you don’t know where to start
or how to get there
If you’ve navigated life as a woman, chances are that the world has taken every opportunity to remind you that you are little more than the sum of your body parts.
And despite anything you’ve achieved or aspired to do, apparently there is no bigger achievement than being “pretty” & having a body that others envy.
Just don’t be too pretty, because no one will take you seriously.
And don’t be too petite, because no one likes a bag of bones.
But don’t be too soft, because no one wants a fat girl.
But don’t be too fit, because muscles look manly.
And if you’re tired of our culture playing keep-away with your self-worth, it’s your own fault for being a doormat.
Maybe you should stand up for yourself.
But WHOA, not like that!
Why are you making such a big deal about this?
You’re totally overreacting, babe.
Are you on your period or something?
If you’ve sported ovaries for more than two minutes, you’re all too familiar with this dialogue – and it’s likely left you feeling one part enraged and one part like the gum on the bottom of someone’s shoe.
But what if you could shake the shame and embrace the vessel that’s hiked, danced, kayaked, kissed, climbed & grown human beings from scratch?
The body that’s put one foot in front of the other during the darkest & most trying times of your life.
The body that houses every joy, every smile & every memory you’ve ever built.
Despite what our culture tells you, your life is not defined by how much you weigh, but by how much you live.
We can’t undo the time we’ve spent hiding & hating our bodies, but we can choose a different path to savor the rest of the journey.
But getting there? That’s another story.
Fitspiration junkies can’t stop farting rainbows about “loving your body,” but their advice is about as useful as telling someone who wants to hike the Appalachian Trail that they should just “walk to Maine.”
Well, no kidding.
They already know that’s the goal. What they don’t know is how to do it.
Improving your body image is much like embarking on a strenuous hike.
You don’t need a pack full of Deepak Chopra quotes or some feel-good fairy dust to start.
What you need is a plan.
One that can help you take the first step, and the next, to get you moving in the right direction.
That’s what inspired Scale Your Inner Everest.
As a fellow woman, I’ve faced the same formidable mountains, and I know what it’s like to wrestle with your self-worth like it’s a croc in a death roll.
After years of putting the pieces back together, I designed this program as a step-by-step system to help other women break free from the shackles of shame & self-doubt that keep us from living our richest and most meaningful lives.
Breaking down the process into small, actionable steps, this program will help you-
- Identify your values
- Plan for obstacles
- Shape your environment for success
- Practice self-compassion
- Reframe key events that have impacted your self-worth
- Recalibrate how you view & value your body
- Practice letting go of what doesn’t serve you
How will you benefit?
By combining the benefits of the outdoors with established behavior change strategies, you’ll be poised to embrace your quirks, savor your strength & kick life in the shorts.
- Accountability – you’ll be introduced to a community of supportive women working on the same skills so you won’t feel alone, and you’ll have others cheering you on even if veer off-track.
- Availability – because the program is offered online, you can participate & connect from anywhere.
- Sustainable pace –no one will force unrealistic goals on you, and you can customize each step to start where you are without shame or guilt that you can’t “keep up.”
- Increased momentum over time – from week-to-week your “wins” will build on one another to increase your confidence & propel you forward.
- Less thinking, more doing – we’ll work on many things that you already know are beneficial, but with guidance & a supportive community, you’ll actually do them.
- Increased self-compassion – learning to be kind to yourself will boost motivation, improve your body image, reduce stress, foster resilience to adversity, and enhance your self-worth.
- Practicing skills that you’ll use throughout your life – sometimes life will come at you with both barrels, and the skills you build here will empower you to continue saying yes to a world that tells you no.
Why it Works
- Studies show that body dissatisfaction is a major barrier to being active, and people who are more satisfied with their bodies – regardless of their weight – are more likely to be active.
- People who are more active are more likely to be satisfied with their bodies – and this positive feedback loop helps you gain traction to produce lasting change.
- Women who participate in outdoor activity have reported higher levels of satisfaction with their bodies.
- Keystone habits, such as physical activity and journaling, can carry over into other aspects of our lives, leading us to eat healthier, sleep better, and improve our resilience to stress.
- The built-in social & emotional support is a key factor in sustaining long-term change.
What makes this program different?
- It builds on the known physical & mental health benefits of spending time outdoors.
- It uses a slow & steady pace to create sustainable change.
- No unrealistic goals that don’t fit your life.
- It offers you support without judgement, shame, or guilt.
- It connects you with a community of other women who are working to reclaim their confidence – reminding you that you are not alone in your struggles.
What it isn’t
- A revolutionary secret that no one’s ever revealed to you…until now.
- A quick fix designed to get you “instant” results.
- An extreme challenge designed to punish your body into shape.
- An elimination diet that prohibits you from eating specific foods.
- A program designed to replace talk therapy or medications prescribed by a licensed professional.
