Looking to make some changes but aren’t sure where to start?
Tired of the same old, same old & feeling like you’re getting nowhere?
The health & fitness industry is filled with disordered messages about our bodies, our food, and what it means to be active.
But that’s not how I roll.
As a coach, former ecologist & unapologetic nerd, I use the well-established benefits of time outdoors to help you increase physical activity, enjoy your food, slay your dragons & reject what doesn’t serve you.
More specifically, I help you focus on two key questions:
- How do you want to explore & experience the world?
- What must your body (+mind) be capable of doing to accomplish it?
Though our weight & body composition are relevant to our well-being, we’ve become so preoccupied with how our bodies look that we’ve forgotten what they do.
And what they do is provide the one & only vessel we have to experience the world around us.
That’s precisely why I focus not on how much you weigh, but how much you live as a vantage point for progress.
My Approach
My approach is simple and based on the benefits of time outdoors & the power of habits to help you make long-lasting change.
- There are no contracts or long-term obligations, so you can work with me for as little or for as long as you need.
- I understand that everyone has a different lifestyle, budget & dietary preferences, and everyone is starting from a different place.
- I use facts, not fear-mongering, to help my clients make informed decisions about their food & physical activity.
- I help you take one step at a time, and while many of the initial steps are not centered on food or physical activity, they are key to achieving long-lasting success.
Is your coaching program for me?
My program may be a good fit for you if you can answer “yes” to the following questions –
- Do you want to make healthy changes, but get frustrated & confused by all the white noise out there?
- Do you enjoy spending time outdoors?
- Do you appreciate a more laidback style that isn’t preachy or militant?
- If necessary, have you been cleared by your doctor for moderate to intense physical activity?
- You’re in the midst of moderate to severe depression or other mental illness. If so, it’s best for you to seek help through a psychologist or other mental health expert to keep yourself safe.
- You’re undertaking major life changes – a big move, a major shift in jobs or job responsibilities, or a shift in a relationship. Making too many changes at once can be overwhelming & may leave you more likely to abandon ship. Rather than setting yourself up to fail, it may be better to wait for calmer waters before tackling the weight of additional changes.
- You have risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, a BMI over 30, prediabetes or diabetes, and/or you have not received clearance from your doctor for moderate to intense physical activity. If you have any of these conditions, please be sure to disclose them early on so that I can work in line with your doctor’s advice.
